Rashomon Media, led by Producer/Director Laurie Lasdon Marshall, is producing independent documentaries about art under the non-profit Fractured Atlas umbrella. Rashomon is currently producing two films: a documentary about the artist Mimi Smith and full-length feature documentary ‘Defiant: Women Artists Who Redefined Art.’
Freelance clients include Christie’s, Lévy Gorvy, Phillips, The Friday Foundation, The Seattle Art Museum, Gagosian Client Advisory, The Woodstock Artist Association/Museum, The Pousette-Dart Foundation, and WNET/Thirteen.
Laurie Marshall is an artist, art historian, and independent filmmaker specializing in programming about art. She was VP, International Executive Producer at Christie’s and previously developed and supervised departments/projects at Scholastic, Hearst, IBM/Workman Publishing, and WNET/Thirteen. Past films include Jeff Koons Speaks (featured at Art Basel); Holly Solomon: On Warhol & SoHo Story; Studio in a School (Christie’s and WNET/ Thirteen).
